BOSTON, Mass.,__Recent University of Maryland school of Journalism graduate, Dr. James Ngetha Gachau has joined newly constituted Ajabu Africa News editorial board and field reporting crew.

Originally from Kenya, Dr. Gachau graduated with a Bachelors degree in Philosophy and Religious studies at the University of Nairobi in 2002 before advancing for a Masters of Arts Degree in Journalism at the Northeastern University in Boston where he graduated in 2010.

"The future of our continent depends on the diaspora. Because of our exposure and cosmopolitan experience, we are uniquely positioned to be the change our people need," he said while stressing the need for more coverage of diaspora issues by African diaspora writers who understand the needs of the immigrant community better.

His addition to Ajabu Africa brings the editorial board to 4 members including Harrison Maina, Simon Ngugi and Moses Mathenge.

In its effort to improve the quality and variety of news after marking the recent 10 years anniversary, Ajabu Media is seeking to recruit experienced as well as interns in the areas of news writing, radio columnists, presenters and multi-media editing.
