NORTH CHELMSFORD, MA__Loud cheers and ululations rent the air at the Christ is The Answer church in North Chelmsford last Sunday as the long serving church pastor, Rev. John Wachira together with fellow Kenyan clergyman at the Community Christian Fellowship (CCF) church, Rev. Joseph Waiyaki were both elevated into the office of the Bishop in a colorful ceremony conducted by The archbishop Dr. John Tumising, leader of the Deliverance church in Kenya assisted by Bishop Dr. Armstrong Cheggeh, presiding bishop of the Fountain of Life churches International.

Archbishop Tumising had been dispatched by Archbishop Athur Kitonga of the Redeemed Gospel church in Kenya who had been scheduled to consecrate Wachira but was unable to attend due to a medical condition that needed attention. Tuimising was assisted by assisted by Bishop Kepha Omae, also from the Redeemed Gospel Church in Nairobi.

In addition, dozens of clergymen from many different churches in the New England region and the motherland as well led over 400 worshipers who turned up to grace the occasion.

Following the consecration, Rev. Wachira was officially enthroned into the office of Bishop Wachira under the Christ is the Answer Church Ministries which, together with his wife, Joan Wachira, helped found over 15 years ago from a home based fellowship into a fully fledged church that also hosts a fast growing bible school.

As a helper always by his side, Bishop Wachira’s wife was also consecrated to work along side her husband in the demanding task of serving the flock and spreading the Good News.

Minutes after his elevation, Bishop Wachira performed his maiden duties as a bishop by ordaining two former deacons at the Citac church into fully fledged clergymen. George Koko was ordained to assume the duties of a Reverend serving as assistant to Bishop Wachira while Charles Ulanga was ordained to Reverend Ulanga serving as the youth pastor.

Nine other serving members of the church and their spouses were also ordained to become deacons of the fast growing church frequented by worshippers from several different countries of Africa and USA.

On his part, Rev. Waiyaki, now Bishop Joseph Waiyaki, has been ministering under Rev. Rafu Najem at the CCF church in Lowell was enthroned in the office of the Bishop in a church without walls under the Faith Service Ministries.

Together with his wife, Anne Wanderi,Bishop Waiyaki founded the Faith Service Ministries over 20 years ago as a Christian charity that initially focuses on promoting and sponsoring preachers and gospel musicians from Kenya to religious missions in USA, but has recently expanded into medical missions to the suffering in African continent the world at large.

Bishop Waiyaki, a nurse by profession, and his wife, a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, were both consecrated by Bishop Armstrong Cheggeh with the blessings of Rev. Najem of the CCF church who was present to witness the event.

While leading the service, Bishiop Tumising congratulated Wachira, a father of three, for his dedication and commitment to the church. He wished him and the entire church leadership well in their effort to serve the membership and urged them to seek wisdom from God on how to serve the church and the immediate society.

"Wisdom is a principal thing to have, therefore get wisdom. Some of us pastors make people run away from the church. When pastors serve the church with no wisdom, they do a lot of harm. This is why many churches today are splitting due to lack of wisdom," said the archbishop.

He also advised the pastors present and the newly ordained deacons at the Citac church to apply wisdom during their service to God and man so that they can succeed in their mission. Top on the list of the wisdom advice was to take care of their spouses before anything else.

"Take care of your wife first. Your wife comes first before the church. You cannot serve God well if you have neglected your spouse. That is real wisdom," Tumising said prompting loud applause.

He also urged clergymen and everyone serving inn church to associate with the right friends and take care of their bodies by doing lots of exercise.

"Do exercise to take care of your body. Many pastors have neglected their bodies!" "Fanya mazoezi!" he added in Swahili for emphasis.

While consecrating Waiyaki, Bishop Armstrong Chege said that it was not unusual for a pastor to be elevated into the office of a bishop in a church without walls. He said that massive service to God has been performed by Bishops serving under such circumstances, among them Bishop John Wesley of the United Kingdom.

"I think of many bishops who have served in many churches without walls. I can't help to think of Bishop John Wesley who was rejected by the church in the UK but went on to serve under his own ministry and achieved amazing success."

"I have no doubt that as you assume this office of a Bishop under Faith Service Ministries, your service to conduct medical missions in Africa and around the world will help so many people. In fact, I have been praying for a person like you to help our church conduct many medical programs we have been trying to implement in many countries like Congo and others," said Bishop Cheggeh.

Both Bishop Wachira and Bishop waiyaki thanked all the guests who too their time off to attend the service and wished them God's grace.

The ceremony was moderated by Bishop David Karaya of the CCF church in Lowell.
