Kenya's Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi has formally taken over the Foreign Affairs docket from CS Alfred Mutua (Tourism)
Speaking on Tuesday, Mudavadi pledged to address concerns of Kenyans abroad.
Mudavadi was handed the Foreign and Diaspora docket following a mini Cabinet reshuffle by President William Ruto on October 4.
Head of Public Service Felix Koskei said the additional role assigned to Mudavadi was aimed at promoting Kenya's national interests on the global stage and strengthening strategic partnerships with other countries through both bilateral and multilateral efforts.

Mudavadi was handed the Foreign and Diaspora docket following a mini Cabinet reshuffle made by President William Ruto on October 4. "This is, therefore, to invite the Media for a handing over ceremony to be held at the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs at the Kenya Railways Headquarters block A, off Haile Selassie Avenue on Tuesday, October, 2023 at 9am," Swaleh said. Following the reorganisation of the Cabinet, Mutua was moved to the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife to take over from Peninah Malonza who was in turn moved to the Ministry of East African Community, ASALs and Regional Developments. Mutua welcomed the changes saying the President had placed him in the right place to streamline the ministry. "You have removed CS Aisha Jumwa from Gender ministry where she was playing full-back and now you've placed her in the midfield and placed me in the right wing. From there, we shall work together to improve tourism," Mutua said during the Turkana Cultural Festival attended by Ruto. Jumwa was moved to the Ministry of Gender, Culture, Arts and Heritage. On Friday, Koskei said the Public Service Commission had designated ministries and state departments to new office space following the Cabinet reshuffle. He said Mudavadi's office had been moved to the Old Treasury Building just across the Railways Headquarters. But the Prime CS released a statement and clarified that his office will remain at Railways. "For the avoidance of doubt, the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs remains at the Railways Headquarters," Mudavadi said. | |||||||||
